Dock Builder: Custom Docks & Piers

New docks, long piers and full replacements, designed around your shoreline, your water depth and the way you actually use the water.

Built for the conditions, not just the drawing

A dock on the Mississippi Sound takes a very different beating than a dock on a quiet bayou. Before we recommend a design we look at water depth, bottom conditions, wave and boat-wake exposure, how far out you need to reach good water, and what you want to do once you get there: tie up a boat, put in a lift, fish, or sit in the shade.

Materials we build with

  • Marine-grade treated lumber where it makes sense for budget and use.
  • Composite decking that will not splinter, rot or need yearly staining.
  • ThruFlow flow-through decking that lets light, water and air pass through. It stays cooler underfoot, drains instantly and can help where light needs to reach the grass beds below.
  • EcoPile composite pilings and SnapJacket protected pilings for foundations that last.
  • Stainless and galvanized hardware chosen for saltwater.

WearDeck by Owens Corning

WearDeck is wood-free composite lumber made from high-density polyethylene reinforced with Owens Corning’s fiberglass technology. It is built for marine use: the decking spans 24 inches on center, and the same material comes as structural framing for joists and rim boards, plus posts. It will not rot, warp, split or attract insects, so you get a dock that stays flat and solid without yearly sealing.

One crew for the whole waterfront

Docks rarely stand alone. Most of our dock projects also include a lift, a covered platform, lighting and power, or work on the bulkhead the dock ties into. We plan all of it together so the pieces fit, and so you have one company to call if anything ever needs attention.

Killer Dock fish cleaning stations

Clean the catch right where you tie up. A Killer Dock fish cleaning station keeps the mess off your deck and out of the kitchen, and we can build one into a new dock or add it to the dock you already have.

Lighting, power and dock electronics

Dock lighting, power, lift controls and automation are planned with the structure, not added as an afterthought, through our Docktronics dock electronics brand. Wiring near saltwater has to be done right, and we plan it that way from the start.

Repair or replace?

If your existing dock is worn, it may not need to come out. Many docks can be saved with piling protection and new decking for a fraction of the cost of a rebuild. We will tell you honestly which way makes sense. See dock repair.
